What’s ATS anyway?
Many recruitment agencies, job sites and candidate databases (eg: Seek Premium Talent search) utilise Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), to digitally scan through job applications. Resumes uploaded to an ATS are only viewed by a human if the system matches the resume to criteria in the job ad, or returns specific keywords.
ATS software can be used by recruiters and potential employers to scan for keywords or other information such as former employers, experience, universities, and qualifications.
A resume that is not properly optimised for ATS can result in a great candidate being overlooked.
